Hall of Fame
A native of Williamsville, N.Y., Jake Katz played golf at Binghamton from 2007-2011. The program's all-time scoring leader with a career average of 74.36, Katz was the program's first-ever NCAA individual qualifier, a two-time all-region selection, two-time All-America Scholar and two-time conference player of the year. His elite collegiate career included 25 top-10 tournament finishes.

As a freshman, Katz stepped into the starting lineup and produced a scoring average of 76.8, highlighted by being the team's low man at the prestigious Yale MacDonald Cup.

In his sophomore season, Katz dropped that average to 74.9, thanks to 11 top-20 finishes in 14 tournaments. He earned eight top-10 finishes and was medalist at the Philadelphia Big 5 Invite.

In 2009-10, Katz again lowered his scoring average to a school-record 73.6 with eight top-10 performances. He was runnerup at five events, including the 19-team Lafayette Invitational, where he carded a school-record 6-under-par 66. His postseason accolades included being named the America Sky Player of the Year, PING All-Northeast Region, Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar and America Sky Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

As a senior captain, Katz produced an historic season. In 11 tournaments, he lowered his own school record scoring average to 72.3 and finished among the top-20 in every event, including nine top-10 performances. Katz scored in the 60s three times and was ranked among the nation's top-100 golfers. He was a repeat selection as America Sky Player of the Year and then earned an unprecedented individual berth into the NCAA Regionals, hosted by Virginia Tech at the Pete Dye River Course.

Katz defeated more than 95 percent of his competitors throughout the 2010-11 year, amassing an NCAA-best 899-37 head-to-head mark. He repeated as an All-American Scholar, All-Region selection and graduated as the career leader in scoring average at 74.3.

He was honored with the John Bilos Alumni Award for career achievement and earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry in 2011.
